When was the last time you sat down with your family  to create an emergency plan?  What did you do on 9/11?  Where were you, and could you get in touch with your friends and family easily? Do you have an emergency plan, pantry, water and first aid supplies at home? Is there someone in your family that would be good at administering first aid?

Our guests today are the king and queen of emergency preparedness. Joe Alton, also known as “Dr. Bones the Disaster Doctor”, is a medical doctor and Amy Alton, also known as “Nurse Amy”, is an advanced registered nurse practitioner and a certified nurse midwife.  They are medical preparedness experts and the authors of the #1 Amazon Bestseller in Survival Skills, Disaster Relief, and Safety/First aid, “The Survival Medicine Handbook”, a guide for when medical help is not on the way.  They have just published a brand new 2nd edition to their book about survival medicine.

The Alton's produce a weekly podcast called the “Survival Medicine Hour” and have a YouTube channel named “drbonespodcast”. Their website at www.doomandbloom.net has over 400 posts on medical readiness and is one of the top survival sites on the internet. The Alton's have designed an entire line of medical kits to deal with issues you might encounter after a catastrophe, and produce instructional DVDs to teach skills that might be useful in times of trouble.

Shirley Gutkowski will find out what plans we should make to prepare for the unexpected.  Get ready to take notes,  Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy will be giving us important information that you will not want to forget.  Are you prepared? Find out today.
