It is amazing how much the definitions of spiritual gifts can vary. That is one reason that some online tests for spiritual gifts are of little value. Some definitions are for biblical Holy Spirit powered supernatural gifts and some definitions describe natural functions that don't require supernatural power at all. For instance, are words of knowledge just sharing natural knowledge or a supernatural word of knowledge given by God for a specific need? Is Prophecy a special ability to preach the written words in the Bible or supernatural words spoken spoken by God through an individual foretelling future events? Is discernment a natural skill or a supernatural ability to discern the spirit source behind a person's actions?
