Columbia J-school's MA in Arts and Culture program presents the second in their series of interviews with intriguing artists in various fields. The film critic, essayist, poet and novelist, Phillip Lopate will be interviewed by Abigail Drachman-Jones and Herpreet Grewal. Lopate is the author of 11 books and the editor of four anthologies, including The Art of the Personal Essay. His work has appeared in such publications as the New York Times, Best American Essays, The Paris Review, Harper's, Vogue, Esquire and Film Quarterly. A recipient of Guggenheim and National Endowment for the Arts fellowships, he lives in Brooklyn New York, and is a teacher in both Columbia’s School of the Arts and the Journalism School.
