Tania-Maria Xavier appreciates having been invited to attend The Fifth Dimension's induction to the St. Louis Walk of Fame on March 18, 2010 and our get-well thoughts and prayers are with Marilyn McCoo for a quick recovery from her hip injury. We are honored to have Lamonte McLemore as a member of ColoredPeople.net
In 1960 Lamonte McLemore and Marilyn McCoo together with Fritz Baskett, Rex Middleton, Harry Elston and Lawrence Summers formed their first group "Hi-Fis". In 1964 Ray Charles took them on a tour and he produced a single by the group, "Lonesome Mood".

In 1967 the now known group The 5th Dimension, consisting of five members, Lamonte McLemore, Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis, Jr., Ron Townson and Florence LaRue, won five Grammy Awards with the song "Up, Up and Away", a top 10 hit. (1968 Grammy Awards - Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Performance by a Vocal Group, Best Contemporary Group Performance, Best Contemporary Single). In 1970, Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In won a Grammy Award for the record of the year.

Jarred Townson, Ron Townson's grandson, the first voice you hear on show. This show is in memory of Ron Townson.
