The purpose of this show will be to discuss how project management techniques can help improve outcomes for international development projects.  The interview will address such questions as:  To what extent are Project Management Institute and other industry standard approaches applicable to complex and challenging overseas development projects?  What are potentially the biggest benefits in using project management tools, and how might they vary depending on a country’s level of development?

Esen Akter Tekinel is a certified Project Management Professional with 20 years of IT experience and co-founder of E2A Business Partners.  Esen has drafted articles and given presentations on how to adapt project management standards to such environments as Turkey and other Middle Eastern countries.  She is also a Director-at-Large with the Washington D.C. Chapter of the Project Management Institute.

Also joining us for the discussion (both live and via Twitter at #collabtechtalk) will be Kim Kucinskas, a Senior Program Associate in Washington D.C. with  InsideNGO, a collaborative community that strengthens the management capacity of international development organizations, and Apurva Patel, a project management specialist with Mission Critical Development, also in D.C.

Gary Vaughan will be hosting the program. Gary is a contract Senior IT and Knowledge Management Advisor at the State Department's Office of eDiplomacy in Washington D.C.
