Oct 7, I am so happy to have my friend, THE JAZZY VEGETARIAN, LAURA THEODORE. Laura Theodore is a radio and television personality, vegan chef, award-winning jazz singer and actor, sustainable lifestyle writer, and cookbook author. She is the proud creator of the “Jazzy Vegetarian," and author of "Vegetarian Cooking for Every Day." She is the on-camera host of the "Jazzy Vegetarian Show" on MiND TV in the greater Philadelphia area and every Wednesday, at 1 PM (est) Ms. Theodore hosts "Jazzy Vegetarian Radio" on Blogtalkradio. Ms. Theodore has made guest appearances on ABC, NBC, CBS, USA, Public Television, and America’s Talking Network. She has been featured in The New York Times, USA Today, The New York Daily News, The New York Post, People, JazzTimes, Variety, Dallas Morning News, and Time Magazine, among others. Laura began eating “green” over 25 years ago when vegetarian recipes were hard to find, so she began creating her own. Her philosophy is to bring us delicious and healthy eating with a touch of her vibrant personality on the side. Ms. Theodore began her personal journey into the world of vegetarian cooking when she started working with Marcy Baskin, author of “Hingham Grain and Spice Cookbook.” In New York, Laura counseled with nutritionist and life extension specialist, Oz Garcia. She became intrigued with developing accessible recipes based on a diet that included more vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and non-animal proteins. As a jazz singer and songwriter, she has recorded six solo CDs, including her award-winning disc, “Tonight's the Night.” She has toured throughout the country, performing at numerous major events, such as Night of 100 Stars, Fire & Ice Ball, and The American Film Awards. Presently, Ms. Theodore is slated to star in the upcoming Off-Broadway production of "Peggy!" opening in New York City in March 2010. Her television cooking series, "Jazzy Vegetarian," is slated to premier nationwide, on public television in spring 2011.
