One of the four stages of collective leadership involves developing the individual. This episode is the first in a series during which we ask several collective leadership practitioners to reflect on how these experiences have nurtured them personally and strengthened what they bring to their community change work. Our guest for this episode is Gentry Phillips, an educational talent search and grade advisor at Lake Michigan College in Benton Harbor Michigan. Phillips also is a former administrator at the Benton Harbor Boys and Girls Club where, among other duties, he served as a community coach to the Club's Leadership for Community Change program. He shares insights on how the practice of collective leadership allows him nurture others while also tapping into his best gifts.
