I am a dreamer, I have hope and I am the mother of four amazing, smart and beautiful children. I am a Domestic Violence Survivor. That is the key right there, I am a survivor! I came up with the concept of Simply Beautiful Domestic Violence Awareness in October 2010. I believe this is when I felt my strength return. I can’t say that the “old” Bridget returned, she is long gone but the foundation of who I once was is still there; just stronger, more relaxed and eyes wide open. It is Simply Beautiful’s purpose to draw an awareness to a worldwide problem…Domestic Violence. At times it seems pandemic. I will provide contact information for help. Post events and educate you on early signs and full blown signs of the problem. You may learn how to avoid the situation, you may gain strength to get out and you may be able to heal. This is part of my way to heal. I want others to heal and the rest to avoid the situation altogether. Please be aware that you may read things that seem outrageous. Anything is possible...sadly. Just remember, you can never fully understand, until you have walked in those shoes of the victim(s). I hope, like many others, that you never have to walk in those shoes. I have worn those shoes. I wore them for too long. After many attempts, I finally got out and stayed out. I am a Domestic Violence Survivor. I was lucky. To my friends and family who knew nothing of this mess, its ok. It shouldn't embarrass you or make you look at me differently...unless you look at me as strong, alive and simply beautiful.
