Hosts Jesse and Cody discussed the continued watering down of popular culture and mass media, exemplified by The Learning Channel's turn towards vapid reality programming and how even somewhat esoteric and arcane subjects have scrapped the bottom of the barel as exemplified by H2's Ancient Aliens and Hanger One.  Political commentary has similarly turned towards simple pablum, pushed into rigid ideological boxes and operating in the Fox News style.  Few seem to take issue with the fact that the Murdoch-owned News Corp owns the channel that broadcasts the excellent Cosmos, as well as the channel that openly mocks evolution and science, profiting from the knowingly dividing the body politic into simple, reactionary blocs.  Meanwhile, instability rages in Ukraine, Libya, Syria and elsewhere, whilst the climate continues to follow its own designs....
