CannabisTimesRadio.com introduces its new monthly medical marijuana show! For the remainder of 2011, Cannabis Times will dedicate its last show of the month to a specific ailment. Guests will include doctors, lawyers and patients affected by the monthly ailment of focus. This week, Cannabis Times Radio has decided to focus on Cannabis and Brain Injury. Brain Injury is defined as either "Traumatic Brain Injury" (TBI) or "Acquired Brain Injury" (ABI) resulting from trauma, illness, stroke or hypoxia. National statistics from the National Center for Disease Control state that approximately, two percent of the general population lives with a brain injury and another 1.4 million Americans sustain a brain injury every year. Brain injury cases are also rising due to war-related injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan. Justin and Errol welcome back Dr. David Bearman to Cannabis Times Radio. Dr. David Bearman is one of the most clinically knowledgeable physicians in the field of medicinal marijuana. He has spent 40 years working in substance and drug abuse treatment and prevention programs. Dr. Bearman was a pioneer in the free and community clinic movement. His career includes public health, administrative medicine, provision of primary care, pain management and cannabinology. His many years of professional experience in the drug abuse treatment and prevention fields include; Co-Director of the Haight Ashbury Drug Treatment Program, Member of Governor Reagan's Inter Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse, Member of both the Santa Barbara and the San Diego County Drug Abuse Technical Advisor Committees, and consultant to Hoffman-LaRoche, Santa Barbara County Schools and the National PTA. This week Dr. Bearman discusses how Cannabis can be an amazing therapeutic agent to those suffering from Brain Injuries, specifically. Dr Bearman is a frequent contributor to Cannabis Times Magazine.
