-Self-initiation: Is it legit? In many of the mystery schools, initiation rituals are held sacred -- the elder passes on their experience to the younger, and the initiate is elevated to a new path. Is self-initiation a way to skip training? A way to make yourself feel accomplished while accomplishing nothing? Is it a way to save a buck?
