Join host Michael Harris as he interviews artist Rene' Alvarado. Rene’ Alvarado is from a small village just outside of Torreon, Mexico and he came to the United States when he was seven year old. He has been painting professionally for eleven years now and realizes that his work is defined by his familial roots of Mexico and his adopted home in Texas. Rene's creative process isimmersed in this dual identity. You will see on canvas the richness of his grandparent's fok tales alongside of the adventures of the "new life" created by his own hardworking immigrant parents. Through symbolism, metaphors and pictorial language, Rene' tells his story and paints what he feels more than what he sees.
