Delegate Jill P Cater, Baltimore City, Dist. 41, is the daughter of the late civil rights activist, leader, and visionary, Walter P. Carter. She is the third African-American female attorney elected to serve in the Maryland General Assembly. She has earned a reputation as an unyielding voice for the voiceless and underserved. She single-handedly led a legislative effort that resulted in stopping the building of a $170million youth jail in Baltimore last year. She continues the fight to stop charging youth as adults, for law enforcement education and reform to address police brutality, killings claiming the lives of unarmed Black people in America every 28 Hours. Delegate Carter made history by winning her seat, a first time candidate, independent of two political machines competing in northwest Baltimore she garnered more votes than any other candidate and placed first in the city which she continues to do. 

David W. Smith, Sr., Co-Founder & Executive Director of the Children's Rights Fund www.childrensrightsfund.org an educator and advocate for children in the Maryland Public School System.  Advocate for children & families and Community Leader Mr. Smith is also an involved father and parent who has been a strong advocate for joint custody (shared parenting) for several years.  He has worked tirelessly in the Maryland legislature and around the State of Maryland to help bring about reform for children, parents and families.
