Chris Virdell is a 19 year old Bethel High School graduate that vanished into thin air on the morning of February 9, 2012 after leaving a friend’s house on 223rd St. E. in Spanaway to catch the bus to go to work. Chris was last seen around 10.00 a.m. that fateful morning, but what followed still remains a mystery. We do know that Chris, for the first time in two years never showed up for work at the Safeway store, we also know Chris texted friends at least six times between 9:42 a.m. and a final text at 9:48 a.m. followed by a flurry of around 60 texts in the next hour believed to have been by his attacker or attackers. A man in Virginia is said to have confessed to the attack, robbery and murder of Chris on the morning of February 9, 2012 but to date his body has not been located. Chris Virdell is a responsible young man who worked hard at his job of two years at Safeway; he volunteered his time at the youth center and also carried produce at the Puyallup farmers market on Saturdays. Chris is very much loved and missed by his family and friends, his father Paul has been working tirelessly to find him as have his other family members, friends and the members of the community. Christopher Virdell was looking at a possible career as a Coast Guard helicopter pilot in the future. There is someone out there that knows what happened to Chris and where he can be found and it is our most sincere hope that they will see the pain of his family and the community and at least leave a tip as to the location of Chris Virdell. Christopher Virdell is 5 feet, 8 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. He was last seen in an orange hunting hooded jacket with black pants and black shoes with glow-in-the-dark laces. Information about his disappearance can be found at the “Help Find Chris Virdell Family Page” on Face book. Anyone with information about the disappearance can call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-TIPS.
