Katrina Byrd The Boa Flouncing Persona

Katrina Byrd isn’t a writer who just writes.  She’s a boa flouncing, strutting force who  performs, acts and writes fiction, flash fiction and plays.  Katrina, a graduate of Millsaps College and Jackson Native, is the author of three books – One HOT Minute, Justice is Blind and Byrds of a Feather.  In 2010 Katrina served as The Center Players Playwright in Residence.  Several of her short plays performed locally.  Katrina has received four Artist Minigrants from Mississippi Arts Commission.  She mentors other writers and playwright with a workshop that she developed titled Dramatist to Dramatist.  Katrina is also a freelance writer who has stories published in Black Magnolias Literary Magazine and articles published in Jackson Free Press.  Katrina is also an actor and performer.  She’s worked with several local theatres.  Her most memorable role was DUTCHESS in HATS The new musical for the rest of your life.   This performance gave Katrina the confidence to create the boa flouncing persona who resides on the Katrina Byrd Fanpage.
