Where do you stand on the debate between film makers Spike Lee and Tyler Perry?  Spike accuses Tyler Perry of promoting buffoonery, a mockery out African Americans and the African American Experience.  Tyler Perry’s defense is he uses what people enjoy to deliver a message of Gods love and power over our situations.

Spikes comments have generated an onslaught of opinions from he’s being a hater to he’s right on the point.   Spike’s movies have not been without controversy from She’s Got to Have it to Do The Right Thing both which display African Americans in somewhat of a dim light.  Spike has shown an aspect of African American life based on his view.  What’s so bad about Tyler Perry’s approach?
