Just after she celebrated her 39th birthday, Donia Youssef had to face heart breaking news and the challenge to tell her children aged 2 and 5 years old, that she was diagnosed with cancer. Instead of shutting down her successful career as founder of internationally renowned modelling and acting agency Tiny Angels, Donia decided to play to her strengths, lead her life with a renewed purpose and inspire other parents to overcome traumatic news and empower them. Donia has since become an advocate for good communication of bad news. In between treatments, Donia started campaigning to raise awareness of the emotional benefits of open communication between cancer patients and their children and enable social spiritual growth.

She won the 2018 Authors Award for her best selling book, The Monster in Mummy, which aims to help create awareness, encourage effective communication and offer various coping strategies for parents diagnosed with cancer.
