Shari received her Master’s degree in Social Work from University of Denver in 1993 and became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1995. She has had a 28 year career as Clinical Director and Therapist.  She has run addiction treatment centers, teen mother homes, psychiatric facilities and was founder of  a teen homeless shelter in Colorado.

Shari was asked to become a consultant by the State Department given her expertise in training mental health therapists, counselors and CEO’s on how to implement evidenced based practices and trauma informed care.  Her unique approach has helped countless organizations fine tune their mission, develop organizational strategic goals, implement tools that enhance programming and hardwired behavior standards.

She is currently an Adjunct Professor for several universities in both graduate colleges of Social Work and Psychology, teaching students on Crisis/Trauma, Mental Health issues and Management/Administration.

Shari has spent the past eighteen years studying resiliency, vulnerability and the enduring self- sabotaging thoughts that are often the result of trauma.   She is the co-author of Which Way?, a memoir and psychological handbook on trauma for survivors, clinicians, and anyone who wants to understand and celebrate just how resilient the human spirit is.  Which Way? explores the questions we all have to answer about which path we will take in life to become who we were born to be vs. who we were destined to be.  (Due for release May, 2018)

?Shari is also the Clinical Director at Fire Mountain Residential Treatment Center.
