Where is God when it hurts?  Why does He allow horrible things to happen to us?  What does God think and feel about our pain?  Is it possible to hold the love of God in one hand and the pain of our trauma in the other?  These are questions many trauma survivors ask in the midst of their pain.  Stripped of all that we would use to cover our weakness, pain is often the bridge to spiritual growth. C.S. Lewis says, “God whispers to us in our pleasures, speaks in our conscience, but shouts in our pains: it is His megaphone to rouse a deaf world.”  While God does not orchestrate our pain, He will use it to open our hearts and draw us close to Him.  Join me as I speak with Gary Roe, Hospice chaplain and author of Not Quite Healed and Surviving the Holidays Without You on the subject of healing our spiritual pain during trauma recovery.  Thursday, December 19 at 7:30 pm Pacific Time, or tune into the archives after the live show at your convenience.
