In 2006, Andy Pujol founded Building Homes for Heroes®. The national nonprofit organization exemplifies the patriotic spirit of giving that brought an entire nation together following 9/11.  As president, Pujol oversees the day-to-day operations of the organization. He receives no compensation. Drawing on his business expertise, he has guided Building Homes for Heroes (BHH) to extraordinary success with more than two hundred-fold growth. Pujol is also determined to safeguard a vast percentage of contributions for the direct benefit of deserving veterans.

The organization is rooted in Pujol's personal involvement following the terriorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He was among the thousands of volunteers who aided in the rescue efforts at the World Trade Center. That experience moved him to continue helping others, focusing his efforts on severely wounded men and women of the U.S. Military.

Pujol doesn't often share details of his battle with cancer following the 9/11 rescue efforts, but a Christmas project with Martina McBride inspired him to love other survivors through it at Christmas. Through BHH mission spokesperson Kelly Motes-Hale, he dedicated personal funds to supply Christmas stockings for adults and children going through cancer. The stockings were then filled by Team Martina and Hope Matters' volunteers; the tri-efforts of the organizations prompted a video "thank you" by Martina McBride's Team captain.
