Janet Groene received her first journalism paycheck when she was in junior high, never realizing that someday freelance writing, with her husband's photography, would become a career. She and husband Gordon, a professional pilot, left  a cold Illinois winter to become full-time wanderers. It was a bold gamble for a young couple who simply assumed they would go back to “real life” when their savings were gone. Fortunately Janet’s first book sold, then many others.
