Chique 30 Minutes With Author Jeannie Barber

Jeannie Faulkner Barber was born and raised in Marshall, Texas, deep in the piney woods. She graduated from PanolaCollegewith a business degree. She has a varied workforce background from being over Municipal Court in Marshall, paralegal, bank teller, and administrative coordinator for a doctor, an engineering firm, and a CPA firm. She worked on the road for 7 years with her husband, Monte, traveling and splicing fiber optic cable. Being in a ‘man’s world’ in this choice profession, she had to earn her stripes and respect from mainly other male co-workers. There were very few husband/wife teams at the time. She was even told once that her being in the position was taking a job away from another man. However, she can hold her own and was dubbed ‘First Lady of Fiber’ by fellow coharts because of her job skills. Currently, Jeannie works for the Overton-New London Chamber of Commerce as the Executive Vice President, as well as Office Manager.

She and her husband live in Kilgore, Texasand have three grown sons. She loves to boast of their awesome nine grandchildren; 5 granddaughters and 4 grandsons.
