Do you wonder where our addiction to Scandinavian Noir began? Well, it might have started with Sara Blaedel, the most popular author in Denmark. Sara won the Martha Prize -- the Readers Favorite Authors Prize -- for the FOURTH time in 2014. That year she also one the GOLDEN LAUREL, the most presitigious Danish literary award, voted on by Danish booksellers. Collectively, Blaedel's nine dark, suspenseful stories reach 20% of Denmark's entire population -- in addition to 23 other countries in translation.

Her latest novel, THE KILLING FOREST, continues her excellent series featuring Louise Rick, a police officer. This time the case takes Rick to her home town to find a 15 year old boy. Micahel Connelly calls her "one of the best" -- Karin Slaughter says she's a "force to be reckoned with."

Sara, who is in the US on book tour, joins host Libby Hellmann in a wide-ranging interview about crime fiction, Scandinavian Noir, the wonderful dark crime TV series originated in Denmark,  and, of course, THE KILLING FOREST. Find out more about Sara at www.sarabladel.com.

Libby Fischer Hellmann, author of 12 Compulsively Readable Thrillers, hosts 2nd Sunday Crime every month. Her 13th novel, JUMP CUT will be out March 1, 2016. More about her is at: http://libbyhellmann.com.
