Rev. Chris Glaser is the author of twelve books, including Uncommon Calling, Coming Out to God, Coming Out as Sacrament, The Word is Out, and As My Own Soul: The Blessing of Same-Gender Marriage. His most recent book is The Final Deadline: What Death Has Taught Me about Life. A graduate of Yale Divinity School and a lifelong activist in the Presbyterian Church U.S.A., he was ordained by the Metropolitan Community Church in 2005 and has served three congregations as interim pastor.

As an openly gay candidate for ordination in the Presbyterian Church, he served as a member of a Presbyterian Task Force on Homosexuality (1976-1978), as founding Director of the Lazarus Project, a ministry of reconciliation between the church and the LGBT community in Los Angeles (1977-1987), and as editor of Open Hands, a quarterly magazine for welcoming congregations in seven denominations (1998-2003).

Since early 2011, Glaser has blogged weekly Progressive Christian Reflections at http://chrisglaser.blogspot.com. Published on Wednesday mornings, the blog and subscriptions are free and ad-free. Donations are welcome.

Glaser is available as a workshop and retreat leader, speaker and preacher. He has been invited by hundreds of congregations, campuses, and community groups throughout the United States and Canada.

Chris makes his home in Atlanta with his partner, Wade, and their dog, Hobbes.
