Whether you are a Plaintiff who holds a federal copyright, or a Defendant being sued for Federal Copyright Infringement you need to understand the general definition of willfullness in a copyright case.

You also need to understand that if a Plaintiff proves willful infringement that you can be held liabile for up to $150,000 per act of infringement.  These are a staggering amount of legal exposure for any company or individual to bear.
