Host: Brenda Johnson~ On this episode I will take you deep inside the issues of Jerusalem. Why do Nations care about this ancient city? After years of Diaspora the Jewish people returned to their land in 1948. In 1967 Israel declared victory when they captured East Jerusalem, a city divided by its “occupation” of Jordan shortly after Israel was declared a State. Since its recapture Israel has vowed never again will Jerusalem be divided. “Palestinians” want to claim East Jerusalem as their Capitol, demanding the Nations to force Israel to give back what they claim is theirs by “rite” and now occupied by Israel. Why do Arab Palestinians fight for East Jerusalem when many Jewish historical landmarks, including the Temple Mount, reside there? What connection do Arab Palestinians have to the area? Or is there something else driving their ambition?

Sheik Isma’il Al-Nawahdah in his sermon at the Al-Aqsa Mosque said:

“Jerusalem is at the top of cities sacred to Islam. No city equals its holiness, except for Al-Madina and Mecca…Jerusalem is ours and not yours [i.e., Israel]; this city is more important to us than you…Jerusalem is the key to both war and peace [but[ if the Jews think that force will allow them [to keep] both land and the peace—the delude themselves.”

Is it true that the Al-Aqsa Mosque located on the Temple Mount is the 3rd holiest site in Islam? Did you know that the Koran never mentions Jerusalem as a holy site or the Al-Aqsa Mosque? In fact, Iraq, Iran, Turkey and Syria also claim to have “Islam’s third-holiest shrine” on their soil.

There's a reason why Arab Palestinians want Jerusalem. Why? Something fierce drives their ambition. Will war erupt in the Middle East to capture this coveted area? You don't want to miss this episode!
