On Sunday I was fortunate to be able to travel to New York City and join the 400,000 people who came together for the People's Climate March, the largest such action ever and a most amazing and hopeful day. On this week's Voices I am greatly honored to welcome another marcher, Rema Loeb, for what will be a lively and rich conversation about our experiences at this incredible event.
Rema is a life-long activist and devoted Earth-advocate stretching back to the early 1960s when she and her husband, Eric, became involved with the Civil Rights Movement soon followed by the efforts to end the war in Vietnam. She told me that often they'd "divide up", one of them attending a peace gathering, the other going off to a Civil Rights action. Our paths crossed a few years ago at anti-fracking events taking place in the Southern Tier of New York State. Upon meeting her I knew I was in the presence of a wise Elder and passionate Earth-lover who unabashedly spoke her truth and "walked her talk". You will be so glad to have met Rema Loeb here on Voices of the Earth. We encourage you to join the conversation!
The slide show photos are of course images I captured on this momentous day....enjoy
