Amity Shlaes is a syndicated columnist for Bloomberg and a senior fellow at the Council on Foreign Relations.

She is the author of  The Greedy Hand: How Taxes Drive Americans Crazy and What to Do About It,  Germany: The Empire Within, and one of the most essential economic books of the past few years, The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression.

Her latest work is the upcoming biography, Coolidge, to be released on February 13th.


George F. Gilder is the Chairman of Gilder Publishing, a co-founder of the Discovery Institute, and a Republican Party activist. Mr. Gilder is a contributing editor of Forbes magazine and a frequent writer for the Economist, the American Spectator, the Harvard Business Review, the Wall Street Journal, and other publications. He is the author of numerous books, including his 1981 bestseller Wealth and Poverty which advanced a practical and moral case for capitalism during the early months of the Reagan Administration.
