Ex Baltimore Police Detective Joe Crystal was pressured to stay silent on corruption that he witnessed while on duty. Instead of following the status quo of not speaking up and speaking out, Joe decided to expose foul play by testifying about harassment and intimidation on the job which then led him to be labeled a "rat." With that label Joe and his wife Nicole were threatened and harassed and had to flee the town he loved and promised to serve and protect. 

Joe could have stayed silent but instead chose to do the right thing which is something that we don't "see" too much of within law enforcement these days. Joe is a true hero in every sense of the word. He took the high road and followed his heart and stood by the oaths he swore by when he decided to become a cop.
