Lokey Kountry is a new Southern Soul artist from North Carolina.  Growing up with roots in a quartet, gospel, funk, and R/B music, he uses that to create a familiar old school-soulful sound. Lokey says  “I used to love to listen to the quartet bands in church and funk groups, they just seem to create melodies that just made you move”. Lokey takes the same approach that just made you move” and has high energy in his performances. Often noted for doing his signature dance move, “Bodyrock” while performing. Lokey, as a songwriter, uses timely analogies and metaphors to paint a clear picture in the minds of his audiences of the song’s concept. While the metaphors help visualize, it is the simplicity of the lyrics themselves that give the songs clarity. “My music is for every day, hardworking real people. It’s real talk, for real folks. I want people to relate and feel the song as if it’s their own thoughts.” And with songs such as “Love Hangover” and “Timeless”, there’s no wonder Lokey Kountry is gaining interest all over the Carolinas and further South. In this, the first year of artistry, Lokey has performed at over 10 venues. This including opening up for known names such as Country Boi Flyye, Nelson Currie, Bigg Robb, and Pokey Bear-JSP. “It’s been a humbling and exciting year. I can’t thank God enough for the opportunities and support I’ve received.” As he continues to make more new music and share it, he is pushing the mantra “Real music, is music”. And as many fans have recently found out, Lokey Kountry’s real music…It is really good.
