Survivors World is talking Sexual Assault!! We are discussing what YOU need to know to keep YOU and those you love SAFE.!!

We welcome two experts in the St. Clair County Area of Illinois, to discuss what is most important after the attack, but more crucial HOW TO PREVENT IT. Violence Prevention Center of SW IL, Ms. Debra Mize. She has 15 years of built up one on one interaction with families, victims, survivors of all ages and genders; now Education/Prevention Training Coordinator. Call for Hope; Ms. Jackie Smith who has 11 years working with the center as an active HOTLINE worker, also now Education/Prevention Trainer. Both of these experts have one on one training they also do in throughout some of our Illinois school systems.

We are keeping our focus this week on Sexual Assault Awareness Month. We also want to be sure all adults are aware, THIS HAPPENS TO CHILDREN of all ages!! It is our job to talk with them and teach them about these issues. We can take down the barrier of silence and judgement on victims when we make ABUSE/SEXUAL VIOLENCE A TOPIC OF CASUAL CONVERSATION. When we feel comfortable talking about this topic, so will our kids. We want to encourage reporting, not continue to trap them in silence. We know what silence and secrets do to survivors of these crimes. You need help to face the deep personal trauma of these crimes. HELP IS AVAILABLE - REACH OUT AND TALK TO SOMEONE. Estimated to present there are anywhere from 40 to 60 millions survivors just in the United States. We can help when we know how to refer those who come to us. BE AWARE & PROVIDE HOPE!!
