Whether or not you support U.S. Senator Ron Johnson, his hunch, "Higher education is sinister," is well-supported: Evidence is mounting that liberal-arts higher education is altogether a baleful proposition with sinister implications.
Accumulating research suggests a liberal-arts education impairs one's religious fidelity. Those lacking a strong ideological anchor to their faith, tend to lose it -- partially, if not entirely -- during their collegiate matriculation.
To the extent a loss of faith is harmful to social cohesion (if not to one's moral compass and afterlife), the means of this religious reduction -- higher education -- truly -is- sinister!
This dimension of spiritual harm is in addition to the established opportunity for financial disaster and economic misfortune, stemming from increasingly common situations in which neither bachelor's nor advanced degrees help: They never confer a wage premium unto that graduate.
