Fast forward to today and crowdfunding has become a mainstay for start-up, new technologies, music, video and book projects and a whole horde of individual and non-profit fund-raising initiatives from personal cancer treatment to conquering world hunger. Now crowdfunding is becoming the how startups and unconventional business ventures are raising money bi-passing the old start-up means where you would go hat in hand to family, bank or angle/venture capital firms trying to get your venture off the ground.
