Anything that Google touches has significance to it. Even if it's just because they can spend an ungodly amount on anything they have an interest in. It's not only that - Google has a very futuristic long view of things. When they purchase YouTube for an unheard of amount of money - a lot of people said they were crazy. Boy were they wrong. Google announced creation Google Glass in 2012 as a prototype and then a released a limited edition of the actual product in 2013 call the Glass Explorer (for the tidy sum of 1500 big ones). This, like many google launches caused and uproar both positive and negative. The product even gave us new words like "glasshole" for people who recorded your video you without permission and expanded the definition of what wearable computing could be. Today Glass-like eyewear is much more widespread and contrary to the beliefs of many Glass Explore did not go aways. In fact, Google signed agreements with many eyewear manufacturers to take the Glass Explorer to new levels. In this episode of Working the Web to Win, we will explore Google Glass and where it has taken us over the last three years and we predict where it will go from here. So tune in and hold onto your glasses as we tackle Google Glass.
