Preparing job seekers to get them “employment ready” with the skills to meet the needs of businesses and industry is at the core of workforce development.  However, WIOA provides the workforce system with the flexibility to elevate our game and position ourselves within regional markets to engage business as a customer (with business services), as a partner (in sector strategies, apprenticeships, work-based learning) and even as a funder (to invest and leverage).   “It’s not about business learning workforce development; it’s about us learning business and translating that into our vernacular and our world—I think this is critical,” said NAWB President/CEO Ron Painter  in a recent video that focuses on WIOA and Business U.
