Woman Of Paradisehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/womanofparadiseAll the women and the daughters of paradise thank you for taking the time to visit our page. We are excited to share with you the amazing work we are doing to empower communities to end the cycle of poverty and harmful cultural practices. As you listen to our radio shows through this site, you will learn a lot about the challenges of women in developing countries primarily in Africa. Our mission ensures that a lot of efforts are put in place to increase opportunities for poor rural women and men in a broader and deeper way. One of the pivotal elements of our strategy for alleviating poverty is to address gender issues and mainstream gender at each stage of our programs cycle. We have learnt through experience that gender mainstreaming contributes to making supported programs more effective on the ground. In order to direct our support appropriately, it is important to know who undertakes what tasks in agriculture, in income-generating activities and in the household. It is also important to know who has access to and control of the various resources that are critical to the effective pursuit of livelihood strategies that promote reduced vulnerability and higher economic and social well-being of families. Our approach is the recognition of the different, complementary roles played by women and men within the household and the community. Our organization is also a strong advocate for women who have gone through harmful cultural practises like FGM and early marriages. We protect young women from these cultures by applying the Positive deviance approach. We identified individuals who oppose FGM (Female genital mutilation) in the community as well as globally and promoted them as role models. Our potential role models many times include families, teachers, religious figures and others who have abandoned the practice, advised others against it, or made public statements in opposition to it.enCopyright Nkatha Gatuma (C/O Blogtalkradio)Sat, 15 Jun 2019 19:00:00 GMTSat, 19 Jun 2010 05:00:00 GMTWomenBlogTalkRadio Feed v2.0https://dasg7xwmldix6.cloudfront.net/hostpics/8802591c-6824-45fe-b8c5-d39519adcfa1168157_logo_final.jpgWoman Of Paradisehttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/womanofparadiseAll the women and the daughters of paradise thank you for taking the time to visit our page.
