Erica Thiel lives with MPS I Huler Scheie Syndrome

Erica is a 28 year old who lives with MPS I Hurler Scheie Syndrome which is a type of Mucopolysaccharidosis. She has been receiving enzyme replacement infusions since May 05 and has had about 3 dozen surgeries and procedures in just the past 6 years including 11-12 shunt revisions for communicating hydrocephalus this year and 14 in total.

Erica is also a co-Leader with the American Pain Foundation as an Action Network Leader in Wisconsin. She does advocacy and outreach pain education in communities and at hospitals with providers and patients.
