Maureen Francisco is a published author with her first book out in January 2013: It Takes Moxie: Off the Boat, or Out of School, to Making it Your Way in America.

Her story -- told through personal reflection and the pithy vignettes of other immigrants and those who came from humble beginnings -- teaches all of us how to overcome diversity, take pride in who we are and pursue our life goals with a proper mix of ambition, savvy, reason and humility.

?It Takes Moxie gives us fresh insight into the changing color of the American workforce and our communities. The book includes interviews from: Dr. Connie Mariano, the White House doctor, Richard Cho, the first Asian American general manager of a major sports franchise, Ben Huh, CEO and founder of Cheezburger, and much more.
