Our panel discussion with Law Professor Sharon Kyle, editor of LA Progressive, Minneapolis Ward 4 City Councilmember Phillipe Cunningham, Dr. Wilmer Leon, III, host of "Inside the Issues w/Wilmer Leon" & NYPD Ret. Detective Marq Claxton discusses the George Floyd murder, and "Looting By Any Other Name"
Americans are gathering in major cities across America expressing their frustration anger & ultimate disgust for legalized murder by law enforcement. The continued police brutality that seems to frequently expose itself against Black & Brown people is more violent than any upon a suspected white offender. Reports of protests have targeted African-Americans as the destroyers of their community & purveyor of looting & arson. The news media have continued to label African-Americans looters & antagonists. Looting as define is exactly what our constitution, state & federal laws have been doing to Black Americans for over 200yrs. Looting: is goods usually of considerable value, something held to resemble goods of value, something appropriated illegally often by force or violence, to plunder, to seize & carry away by force, illicit gains by public officials. Law enforcement state & federal governments have been looting Black lives since we were brought here in 1619. Our value our goods (hard labor) has been plundered & seized for illicit gains by public officials. Last week our topic was Black Value, how apropos is it that show proceeded this one.
