My Guest this Thursday, June 28th at 3 p.m. PDT/6EDT on MetalSmith BenchTalk is Brigitte Martin, creator and editor of crafthaus, a social network and online community for professional craft artists worldwide.

To say that Brigitte Martin has been busy since the last time we interviewed her would be an understatment!  She has curated and published a book - planned and curated two exhibitions and built all of the marketing tools around these projects (website, book signings, and interviews).  So this is your opportunity to talk to Brigitte about exactly what goes into producing an Art Book. Martin's book, Humor in Craft, is now available.  Join Us - this will be FUN!

Humor In Craft - The Book: Highlighting a diverse range of materials, techniques and artists that might not otherwise be seen—the exhibit challenges viewers to move beyond their own frames of reference when considering approaches to contemporary craft. The concept of “funny” can vary widely based on a variety of factors such as social background, personal experiences and values, knowledge of popular culture events, education, national origin, etc. There are overlaps but also differences in humor perception.

About the author: Brigitte Martin regularly contributes blogs and articles for crafthaus, and helps artists connect across media and national boundaries. Brigitte lives with her husband, 2 kids and 2 big, slobbery dogs in Pittsburgh, PA.
