From Kellyanne Conway "Couch-Gate" to the HBCU Presidents meeting with Trump, unfortunately the actual Executive orders seemed to be overshadowed. With so much "resistance" towards Trump it gets over looked that HBCUs actually suffered financially under Obama. Obama cut $300million towards the pell grant program which effected 30,000+ students. Over 2/3rd of all black college students of qualify for these pell grants and nationally incurred a decrease in enrollment following these cut backs. Although Obama sent a large amount of money to HBCUs, the damage had already been done. People correlated the Atlanta Falcons to the "Resistance" and the New England Patriots to "Make America Great Again". The Falcons came up short for the culture striking a similar feeling of the past presidential election. I give my unpopular opinion that black people in America are currently NOT OPPRESSED. Are we Discriminated, Profiled, Stereotyped at times?, of course, but not oppressed. I explain in detail how I come to this conclusion. As somebody that identifies as "Hotep" I explain what hotep means to me and the various misconceptions that have been associated with the term. Also we discuss that all black people do not have to think the same. Just because someone has a differing view or opinion that goes against the group think does not make them an "Uncle Tom or "Coon".
