Bobby Knuxx CastroKnuxx started out as a mixtape DJ in 1996 (then known as DJ Fame) in Brooklyn, NY. He was a local DJ and in 1997 he got his first glimpse of a real studio and began interning and learning production. In 1998 Knuxx recorded an album of instrumentals (The Great Crate Dig) primarily focusing on mixing turntablist skills with mpc generated beats. In 1999 Knuxx began writing raps and developing his freestyle flow and began at the bottom of the bottom battling mc’s in open mic competitions. In 2002 Knuxx put music on hiatus for his personal life. In 2004 Knuxx would resume learning and perfecting his craft while trying to keep his head above water and two years later moved to Indianapolis, Indiana to tend to a sick grandmother who had relocated there before. After the passing of his grandmother Knuxx stayed in the circle city and is still working on music and has said he is now ready to make his move and mark with his music. He is set to release a full album “Geneside Genre” which is mostly self-produced and features his trademark style of unapologetic in your face lyrics with beats that knock heads from Brooklyn to Naptown. His ability to rhyme to any style beat he believes broadens his fan base and says he does not want to be labeled nothing but a “dope musician” in 2010 Knuxx released “The Basement Tapes” a collection of tracks recorded over the years in a home studio. Also released but from a real studio, Knuxx dropped his alter ego mixtape “Ali Babylon-D Boy death”, but he has yet to promote himself in anticipation of dropping the Geneside Genre album as his debut to the industry. Release dates have not been officially set but it’s speculated to drop by May 2011.
