Trading Spaces!!

For three straight weeks, I've employed the voices of Black Americans concerning the present state of affairs.

Tonite we focus upon the views of others, from the 'white' majority, the LGBTQ, and those that feel caught in a crossfire.

Here are the questions I will be asking:

Every man has a right to his own opinion.  Every race has a right to its own; therefore let no man persuade you against your will, let no other race influence you against your own.  - Marcus Garvey  Is there a line between racism and prejudice?

Is there a difference between 'systemic racism' and 'institutional racism'?

Can you continue to use a system that is supported by its institutions?  Or, do we have to dig another foundation?

During long years in public schools, I did not have one teacher who taught me anything relevant to my own life or experience.  Not one instructor ever awoke in me a desire to learn more or to question or to explore the worlds of literature, science, and history.  All they did was try to rob me of the sense of my own uniqueness and worth, in the process, nearly killed my interest to inquire - Huey Newton - Is this statement still true in the 21st century?

What does 'defunding' the Police mean to you?

Where would you suggest that those funds be allocated?

Do you think less Police would lead to more community unity or racial division?

I would like to leave this time for each panelist to submit a question, or present a possible solution for the panel to discuss.
