So what changed after the resurrection which would cause them to all come together in one accord in the Upper Room?14 They already believed Jesus was HaMashiach while they were still contending with their flesh…they proclaimed He was the Son of GOD before His crucifixion. What changed is when they realized who they were. Every Word Jesus spoke, every promise He gave to His apostles were fulfilled when they received the baptism by the Holy Spirit, and accepted the terms of the Ketubah. When He fed the 5,000, the twelve apostles gathered twelve baskets of leftover bread. During the tribulation, GOD will seal twelve thousand souls from each tribe of Israel. Again we see HIS government perfected in the New Jerusalem. It has twelve gates for each tribe of Israel made of twelve pearls. The wall of the city has twelve foundations representing the twelve apostles, and the length, and breadth, and height is twelve thousand furlongs. Finally there is the tree of life which bare twelve different types of fruit and the leaves are for the healing of the nations. The emphases of the message is not that there was twelve apostles or seventy disciples sent out which resembles the twelve tribes and seventy elders of Israel. This is simply another mystery revealed in GOD’S perfect divine government HE established through HIS Son. The weight of this message we need to convey is how GOD establishes HIS promises, seals it with HIS divine perfection, and confirms it with the patterns established in HIS government. Israel’s bridegroom not only arrived when He was promised, He fulfilled the Old Ketubah, established the New, and sealed them both with His blood which He freely gave on Calvary. All that, which seems to be in the realm of impossibility, becomes possible and accessible. When we cannot do what we are asked in our own strength, yet we are obedient to act on HIS Word by faith, GOD will always receive the glory. Only then can we bring forth fruit. Walking in Covenant is more than being a good servant, a trusted friend, or a blessed heir. It is having the confidence to act with authority as the Bride of Christ. We receive salvation through the Name of Jesus. We are baptized in the Name of Jesus, We have been given power in the Name of Jesus. We perform miracles in the name of Jesus. Moving past the wedding party, the bride and groom now find themselves under the Chupah where they reaffirm the covenants they entered into so long ago, and to finally step into the Marriage Covenant they have long awaited. The couple immediately partakes of the first cup to confirm the Servant Covenant. After the first cup, the Friendship Covenant is reaffirmed. The challah bread is dipped in salt and the couple shares the bread.  The groom then takes off his bride’s shoes and replaces them with a new pair to fortify her inheritance. Finally…it is time for the fourth cup. The couple partakes of the wine as they enter into the Marriage Covenant. To solidify their exclusivity, the bride places her foot on top of the grooms as they break the cup together so no other may drink from their cup. Likewise, Jesus promised He would drink this cup with us in His FATHER’S kingdom. He has been eagerly anticipating this day just as much as His bride who has patiently waited for His return. The groom then wraps his arms around his bride with his tallit bringing them together as one. The chupah and tallit become a symbol of the covering or taking of the bride. He never transgressed the Law, no, not even once. He was the perfect sacrificial atonement, and the only One who could redeem her. Since He accepted the sin of His bride while being sinless Himself, He could not be held of death by the curse of the Law. It is for this reason we are still in Covenant with Christ. The Ketubah Jesus entered into during the Last Supper is now better known as the Gospel Message of the New Testament or New Covenant. As His bride, we are still waiting His return when He will come and whisk us off to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Jesus would not have told us He was returning for a bride without spot or wrinkle if it were not so. We are His bride who He has redeemed. He has gone to prepare a place for us. Although Jesus did come as Israel’s Mashiach, to rule and reign forever, He would not fulfill His position until after he redeemed His bride. The Mashiach came to fulfill His Word to Adam and Eve, to Abraham, and to all the inhabitants of the Earth. Under the law, atonement was only for the Jews. Under grace it is for us all. The Law was not intended to make us perfect. The Law was given to us to reveal our sin. HE used Israel to expose our sinful nature, bring forth the Mashiach, and establish HIS New Covenant with all mankind.
