What a Fantastic evening of Pan Jazz for Fathers' day 2016 in Brooklyn. The Concert started promptly . The Performances were on point. The audience showed a genuine appreciation for the fantastic Caribbean Jazz. The first set featured Garvin "Mr. Smooth" Blake, hands floating like a butterfly and the notes resonating sweetly like a bee featuring firstly music from his first CD "Belle eau Road" then tracks from his latest CD"parallel Overtones" backed by The Maestro Frankie Mcintosh .  Iman Pascal joined the set and delivered  two scintllating  items and was fully appreciated by the lengthy applause and ovation she received. A young and very talented musician to watch.

The Promoters went the whole mile to provide Patrons with sumptious cocktails and wine at the preshow hour and during the 15 minute intermission which alowed friends unseen for some time to rekindle and mingle..

The intermission gave way to the second emcee to introduce The featured artist of the evening ," Othello Mollineux". Accompanied onstage by 3 world class musicians . Othello put his stamp on the show from the first note . "In a sentimental Mood" "Hannibal's Return' some of the songs delivered with a mastery only gained from years of learning and studying  the instrument that has taken him to places far and wide , and his years of playing , recording  and touring with some of the world's best in Jazz. The teacher in Othello surfaced for a 10 minute rapport on the history of The Steel Drum, then it was back to the finale' which left the audience wanting some more.

The Promoters  are to be commended for having the vision to bring such a high calibre event to Brooklyn and my hope is that it will become a Callender event..
