Gossips, Gorgons & Crones w/Jane Caputi

Our guest tonight is Prof. Jane Caputi, author of three books against patriarchal domination:  the Age of Sex Crime, Gossips, Gorgons and Crones: The Fates of the Earth and Goddesses and Monsters:  Women, Myth, Power and Popular Culture.  She also made the short documentary film, The ography of Everday Life and she's not working on a new one, Green Consciousness:  Re-Attachment to Mother Earth.  Tune in as we discuss among other things, how patriarchal religion contributes to the disrespect for and violence against the Earth and women.  Jane argues that serial killers of women are terrorists and as such are made into patriarchal cultural heroes.  We'll delve into gynocide - the sexist and muferous violence against women and much much more.  We'll also ask the question, do we need a new religion and what might god/dess look like or be like in an earth respecting religion.
