Adoptions Joyful & Painful Moments with Kimberly Smythe & Edie Weinstein

Edie Weinstein welcomes Kimberly Smythe whose book entitled Letting Go Again: A Birth Mother’s Tale of Adoption, Re-Union, Separation and Growth highlights the idea that re-uniting with the daughter she gave up for adoption has its joyful and pain-filled moments. 

When Kimberly Smythe was a teenager, she became pregnant and hid the fact from her family until it became evident and from the birth father until well afterward. The shame she felt carried over into all areas of her life. A re-union with her daughter did not go as planned and her artfully told story sheds a light on the emotional roller coaster ride that ensued.

After living the nomadic life of an Air Force brat, Kimberly Smythe spent twenty-six years in Hawaii, which still holds a special place in her heart.  She has four grown children, three of whom call her mom.  Today, Kimberly lives in the great Northwest where she shares a home with her wonderful husband and their two dogs.   www.lettinggoagain.com
