Dr. Remington Nevin, veteran US Army Major, is a Vermont based physician that consults about the adverse effect of antimalarial drugs, in particular mefloquine. Thousands of service members were given mefloquine prior to deployments in Iraq, Somolia, Afghanistan, South America and Africa. For some, it causes nightmares and lasting neurologic and psychiatric adverse effects that may mimic PTSD or TBI symptoms. Dr. Nevin talks about the clinical problems and the inability to receive VA benefits with host Jim Fausone.
