In the current world we live in, especially the Western world we as believers are bombarded on a regular basis with images of pleasure that we should be seeking and seem to be at our fingertips. All this is an attempt by the devil to plunge us into a world of darkness and to cleave to it and reject our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This happened to Demas in 2nd Timothy chapter 4 as Paul reluctantly said Demas left him in order to partake in the sinful desires of the world at large. This can easily happen to us and can spiritually destroy us. This is why God tells us to come out of the world and be separate unto Him and to not be entangled with the world and it's bondage.
