Presumably, he taught what they needed to know.  It also follows that if he did not teach it it was not important enough to be taught.  Original sin is not in the Bible. Original sin is not a Jewish concept or belief. Jesus never heard of original sin.  We know this because the concept was originated in the 4th Century by Augustine. Augustine went into the priesthood because of his early uninhibited sex life. It was because of his past that he created the idea of original sin.  It was his teaching, and his alone, that because Adam sinned his descendants are the inheritors of the "stain" of sin.  Does that really make sense?  Join us for thought provoking conversation.  Elevate your thinking -- transform your life!  Join the New Jesus Movement!    01:29:00The Teaching Templenooriginal sin,Jesus,Augustine, hyprocrisyIt is time that we learn to discard what Jesus did not teach.  The reason for this is simple.  We must believe that, at very least, Jesus knew what was importanSaving Jesus from the Churchhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/02/22/saving-jesus-from-the-churchChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/02/22/saving-jesus-from-the-church/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/02/22/saving-jesus-from-the-churchMon, 22 Feb 2016 00:00:00 GMTSaving Jesus from the Church Jesus never asked or directed anyone to worship him. He directed us to worship God.  But he did direct everyone to take up their own cross (not his) and follow him. To follow him does not mean to worship him.  He said there is only one who is good and that is God. We must ask ourselves who was Jesus the teacher and what did he teach? It is time that we stopped worshipping Paul's Christ and started following Jesus as his original apostles and disciples did. it is in following his teachings that we are transformed. It is clear now that Paul never knew Jesus --never met him -- never heard him preach. Paul was never a disciple of Jesus.  Paul does not even quote Jesus in his numerous letters that comprise more than half of the New Testament.  Paul admits that "his gospel" came to him directly from Jesus in a revelation (that is a dream). That Paul was never an apostle except perhaps in his own mind is now undisputed. In fact, the only reference to Paul as an apostle in the entire New Testament is when he refers to himself as an apostle -- seventeen times. That none of the first followers of Jesus including those who were called by Jesus as apostles ever recognized Paul as an apostle is also clear. Yet it is Paul's Gospel of the Christ that has replaced the teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. It is the teaching of Paul that we now refer to as Christianity.  01:31:00The Teaching Templenojesus,Paul, constan, true teachingThe question we will discus is "How did Jesus become Christian?" His powerful, life-giving, transformative teachings were transmitted by word of mouth in what is known today as oral tradition.  Before the gospels that now comprise part of the New Testament were written a Pharisee named Saul (who later changed his name to PauL) claimed to have had a revelation directly from Jesus that was so utterly different as to be diametrically opposed to the teachings of Jesus. Paul created a set of teachings that were completely rejected by the followers of Jesus who comprised the Jerusalem Assembly. But it was the teachings of Paul known as the Gospel of Christ that won the day. The teachings of Jesus were replaced. Could this unfortunate circumstance be the result of our blind adherence to the traditions of men that have absolutely nothing to do with the teachings of Jesus. Could it be because the younger generation is better educated then prior generations? Could it be because They are versed in critical thinking techniques and scientific method? Is it because they have been taught to question everything that they are told and will believe only after careful examination?  Yet we expect them to not question the Bible or the teachings of the church. Seriously?  What are we afraid of? Is it that they will not believe as we did or that they will find the unsettling truth that much of what is being taught in name of Jesus (that we believe) has nothing to do with what Jesus taught?   01:29:00The Teaching Templenotraditions of men,THE WORD OF GOD,JESUS TRUE TEACHINGSYoung people are turning away from the church. Recent studies show that it is Christianity that is being rejected by them.  But, as hard as it may be for some people to accept Jesus was not a Christian.  So a rejection of Christianity does not necessarily mean a rejection of what Jesus taught. It is my belief that if this generation were presented with his actual teaching much of the disillusionment would be replaced by excitement and commitment.   01:31:00The Teaching TemplenoJesus of nazareth,Gospel of the kingdom of God,powerWe live in a world where increasing numbers of people have become disillusioned with religion and particularly with Christianity. I believe that the reason for"...he saw everything clearly."http://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/01/11/he-saw-everything-clearlyReligionhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/01/11/he-saw-everything-clearly/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2016/01/11/he-saw-everything-clearlyMon, 11 Jan 2016 00:00:00 GMT"...he saw everything clearly." Unfortunately, this powerful message has been lost because we have not understood it.  Jesus said: "When anyone hears the messge about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in thier heart." God must be full of power simply because without power god is just -- not God.  No people ever paid homage to a week God.  No one worships a God who the believe to be powerless.  No one boasts of his allegiance to a God who can do nothing.  God must, at very least , be believed to have enough power to protect and defend worshippers from the hostile forces of the world or God cannot logically be an object of veneration.  Religion too is dependent on power.  Religion is universally defined as the belief in a supernatural power, but a power nonetheless. To the extent that religion serves to bring humanity closer to the realizaion of God it simultaneously serves to bring humanity to the realization of spiritual power.  In our pious genuflections, devoted prayers, mysterious rituals and other acts of adoration we seek favor with spiritual power by flattery.  Here is a truly provocative, powerful and even revolutionary idea.  No matter how you call it, in the final analysis, we cannot escape the fact that God is power.   01:28:00The Teaching Templenopower,God,Jesus' teachingsThe concept of God is meaningless if it is not aligned with the concept of power.  Even God cannot fulfill its universally recognized roles of creator and sustJesus and the Kingdom of Godhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/10/04/jesus-and-the-kingdom-of-godChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/10/04/jesus-and-the-kingdom-of-god/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/10/04/jesus-and-the-kingdom-of-godSun, 04 Oct 2015 23:00:00 GMTJesus and the Kingdom of GodOver the last two thousand years Jesus has been transformed into a very different person than the one who was baptized in the River Jordan as a disciple of John the Baptizer.  Perhaps more importantly his primary message has been distorted to remove its fiery, revolutionary political and economic components. It is now acknowledged by virtually all scholars that Jesus' primary message was the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. It was not salvation. It was not eternal life.  It was not the remission of sins.  It was the Gospel of the Kingdom of God. It is also clear that the Kingdom of God about which he preached was to be here on earth. It is a truly sad commentary on our understanding of his teaching that we can believe otherwise.  Jesus said "your kingdom come ... on earth as it is in heaven." In spite of this clear, unequivocal, unambiguous statement preachers still proclaim that the Kingdom of God will be in the sky -- after you die. Jesus did not come to start a religion -- he already had a religion -- he came to start a revolution!  Be transformed.  Join the New Jesus Movement.  00:30:00The Teaching Templenojesus, the kingdom of God,power, transformation, revolutionDid Jesus envision the Kingdom of God differently than the people who later proclaimed it in his name? What You Believe Mattershttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/27/what-you-believe-mattersChristianityhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/27/what-you-believe-matters/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/27/what-you-believe-mattersSun, 27 Sep 2015 23:00:00 GMTWhat You Believe Matters Jesus made clear that if we are to be his true disciples we must hold to his teaching.  The statement is exclusionary but it does not exclude other teachings it merely states that if you are to be his disciples you must hold to his teaching.  Now if you want to be someone else's disciples just hold to their teaching. The choice is yours.  But you cannot be his true disciples and hold to some other teaching. So the question becomes what did Jesus teach? It stands to reason that you cannot follow teachings that you do not know.  According to the Gospel of Thomas he warned us not to believe leaders who say the kingdom of God is in the air.  In the Gospel according the gospe writer Mark he warned against those who would come saying I am Christ and who would deceive many.  He also said there are those who have the keys to knowledge who won't go in themselves and who will hinder others.  The bottom line is that the true teachings of Jesus have been supplanted by something called the Gospel of Christ which originated with and only existed in the mind of Saul of Tarsus (aka St. Paul). It was readily accepted because it requires nothing but faith in the Christ -- you don't have to do anything but have faith.  No matter how laudable that teaching may be it is not the Gospel of the Kingdom of God and it is not the gospel taught by Jesus.  When Jesus promised that we would do greater things than he had done the proviso was that we hold to his teaching.  01:30:00The Teaching Templenojesus,The Gospel of Jesus, the kingdom of God,power, revolutionaryJesus made clear that if we are to be his true disciples we must hold to his teaching.  The statement is exclusionary but it does not exclude other teachings iMeet the Real Jesushttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/20/meet-the-real-jesusReligionhttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/20/meet-the-real-jesus/#commentshttp://www.blogtalkradio.com/transtemp/2015/09/20/meet-the-real-jesusSun, 20 Sep 2015 23:00:00 GMTMeet the Real JesusThe Teaching Temple is here. Ever wonder why there are so many unchurched people in America, particularly among 18-29 year olds? The reason seems to be that people are disillusioned with what churches are teaching. Yet when Jesus walked the earth the multides followed him wherever he went -- they hung on his every word. They said "never a man spoke like this man -- he speaks with authority".  It was the content of his message. It was what he was saying that made the difference.  No blue smoke and mirrors, No horse and pony shows. No thousand voice choirs. It was his teaching.  Is it any wonder that he admonished is disciples that if they were truly his disciples they must hold to his teaching. Not him but his teaching.  Now suppose that what is being taught is not his teaching?  Might this explain why the Kingdom of God has not become a reality? Is it any wonder that the foundation of his teaching was that you shall know the truth and the truth will set you free? Do you have the courage to learn what he actually taught?  And if you do, do you have the courage to implement those teachings? Each day the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Each day the prisons are being filled with more and more of our young people -- and the beat goes on!
